Newcastle United have gate-crashed the Premier Leagues top four and are threatening to lock out Big Six and Graeme Souness believes Chelsea and Manchester United are vulnerable

Graeme Sounessbelieves Chelsea and Manchester United will miss out on finishing in thePremier Leagues top four this season.

United are in fifth place after losing 3-1 to Aston Villa on Sunday, but do have a game in hand on the two clubs directly above them.Chelseaare down in seventh, having gone four matches without a win under Graham Potter.

Liverpoolare eighth following a disastrous start to their Premier League campaign, but showed signs of improvement in their encouraging 2-1 victory over Spurs on the weekend. There are currently just four points separating United in fifth withCrystal Palacein 10th, with competition for the top four fierce.

Souness believes that Liverpool will turn things around under Jurgen Klopp and that they will be the side to pounce when Newcastles form stutters later in the season. The former Liverpool midfielder thinks the final top four will be made up of Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham. That means Newcastle, Chelsea and United will miss out.

I think Chelsea are in jeopardy, a lot depends on what they do in the transfer window. Arsenal are looking convincing at the moment, they look like a really good team. But I think everyone is playing for second place this season.

So thats my top four prediction. Tottenham will continue to win games the way theyre playing. Antonio Conte did remarkably well to get them fourth last season. Hes a vastly experienced manager who knows what hes doing. If hes going down the route of being pragmatic, you have to believe in him, that would be my message to the Tottenham fans.

There is now just one round of Premier League fixtures remaining before a five-week break for the World Cup. Manchester City kick things off this weekend with a home game against Brentford in Saturdays early kick-off before Liverpool host manager-lessSouthampton.
